The Office of School Improvement at the Southern Regional Education Board seeks to hire a Part-time paid summer Intern (hybrid) in the mid-town Atlanta Headquarters to work on the State Credential Library Project.  This person understands the importance of education and is motivated by improving the economic mobility of students and, in turn, the vitality of the region. The purpose of this intern position is to gain relevant work experience, become familiar with terminology and culture, and apply research skills.

The Part-time Intern in the Office of School Improvement will be expected to complete the following work statements by August 9, 2024:
 

  • Research data on high school credential exams for 12 CTE clusters
  • Communicating with credentials vendors and CTE staff to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Entering and updating data for all 16 CTE clusters.
  • Creating and maintaining working documents for the 16 state Technical Advisory Councils (TACs) formed to review the credential library.
  • Attending meetings to document feedback and revisions for the library.
  • Developing reports and supporting documents as necessary for the TACs.
 
 
What does it take to be a Part-time Intern in the Office of School Improvement?
Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, program of study in Education or Education Research, Education Administration or a related field.

Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to commit to serving the full length of the internship, May 20, 2024, through August 9, 2024.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office, word, Excel and Google Docs, as well as online platforms such as Zoom, Teams, etc.
  • Working experience with Outlook.
  •   Ability to use Google Drive and/or Sharepoint to collaborate on and update working documents.
  •   Attention to detail and comfortable working with large amounts of data
