Piedmont Henry Hospital offers food and fitness camp for kids
Kids ages 11 to 14 years old have the opportunity to learn in a fun, interactive way how to make smarter food and activity choices that can lead to healthier futures through the Ignite food and fitness camp being offered this summer by Piedmont Henry Hospital.
The five-day Ignite camp will be held Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1. Camp is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Momentum Christian Church’s Eagle’s Landing campus. During camp, hospital dietitians will work with fitness instructors to help kids learn about nutrition, engage in exercise sessions, take part in cooking demonstrations and gain confidence in making healthy food choices.
“We hold these camps each summer in order to introduce the importance of nutrition and fitness to our younger generation,” says Melissa Hoover, dietitian at Piedmont Henry Hospital. “Through fun, interactive teaching, we hope to ignite a passion for healthy habits at an early age.”
This is Piedmont Henry’s third summer hosting the nutrition camp. Camp is $60 per person and registration is required as space is limited. Register by calling 678-604-5106.
